It examines an image for patterns associated with AI generation. A result can help you investigate an image, but cannot prove its origin or authenticity.
Will I need an account?
No. You can check one image per day without an account. Sign in with Google for up to three checks per day.
Can it tell me for certain if an image is AI?
No. Detectors can make mistakes, including flagging real photographs or missing AI-generated images. Consider the original source, context and other evidence.
Can I check a screenshot or an edited photo?
You can select JPG, PNG and WebP files. Screenshots, compression and heavy edits can remove useful signals, so an original image is preferable.
What happens to my image?
Your image stays on your device until you click Check image. When you submit, it is sent to Hive, our AI-detection provider, for analysis. IsThisImage does not store the original image in its own database or media storage.
